Falling For Fall

Today a have a layout I did for a new challenge that I found over at Kraftin With Cristina Her challenge is falling for fall. You must make a project using the colours red, orange,and yellow you must also have leafs in your page some where. This picture was taken last fall on a walk that my grand daughter and I took. The trees had just started to turn colour and it was a beautiful. day.
I cut the flowers with my Pagoda Cartridge and the pumpkins were cut with Holiday Cakes.
I have used all the colours asked for and my leafs are on the main paper in black and yellow.

Challenge # 29 is to Celebrate National sewing month. For their project you must use some type of stitching, hand, machine or faux. I love using my gel pens to do the faux stitching, it is so much easier then threading a needle with old tired eyes. Hope you enjoy.

Shipwreck Kraft Dinner

Today's challenge was to make a card using the cartridge I use least. I found this challenge over at Inking It Up Crazy It is her first challenge and it sounded like fun.



So the cartridge I decided to use was From My Kitchen. I just had to have this cartridge and then I just never got around to using it. My nephews girlfriend had a Birthday the other day so I thought I would make a card for her.



She loves Kraft Dinner, she eats it for all three meals plus snacks, day in and day out! I found a picture on the Internet of Kraft dinner so I took a copy of it and used it for my background paper. I even found a recipe for Shipwreck KD.



I cut the pot at 3 inches and then cut a hole in the middle of it and added a candy mold which I filled with KD. I cannot wait to see the look on her face when she opens it.



I am really glad that I found this challenge and was forced to use the cartridge, it is actually a very nice cartridge and I love the way the card turned out.

Throw Back Thursday Challenge # 98

So for today's post I have made a slide card the old fashion way. Just paper, scissors. stamps and glue. It was really hard not to use the Cricut, I find it adds so much to my work. But Emma over at My Creative Time gave us all a challenge so here it is. Thanks for popping in and have a great weekend!

My Pink Stamper Birdie Challenge

My Pink Stamper is celebrating today, she has hit 5 million hits! She is doing some great things to celebrate and has posted a challenge. The challenge is to make a project with a bird.
For my card I used design studio and welded the bird house from Create A Critter to make the card. I cut the cute little birdie at 3.50 and added a couple of flowers.

Japanese Pagoda Tree: Epcot 2009

I found a new challenge blog last week called Design Dollies and when I saw their sketch I just knew I had to make a layout using it. I thought about this all weekend and never really new which pictures I would scrap next and then Fantabulous Cricut put their new Monday challenge up and my layout came together.
Challenge #28
In My Garden Harvest Time:
Create a project having to do with gardening (plants, gardening tools, vegetables, etc.)
Last Mother day, we were having another snow storm in Alberta, when hubby said, lets get the heck out of here. So off we went to Florida for two wonderful weeks. The first week was filled with so many things to do.



These pictures were taken at Epcot, where you have the chance to experience other cultures by visiting one of the areas themed around countries.



These pictures are the entrance into China, where you can eat Chinese food, listen to their music and watch the Chinese acrobatics. The pond was beautiful, just filled with Koi.



I used my Pagoda Cricut cartridge for most of the cuts. The bridge was cut at 3.50 inches. I ran it through my Cuttlebug and then took sand paper to it to make it look like wood.



I then added a couple of birds and the Yin and Yan Symbol.




I cut the Japanese Pagoda Tree at 5.50 inches.



My final cuts were the beautiful Cherry Blossom's which in Japan they say, mean spring. Which of course it was not in Canada!

Dreams Come True Mini Album: DT Call & Colour Challenge!

So today I have decided to enter my first Design Team Call. I am very nervous and yet very excited at the same time.
I have been working on this project for a colour challenge for Paula over at More Than Flavors and it just happens to be a mini album so when I saw the posting for the DT Call over at Cricut Mini Albums I decided what the heck!
The album was really very easy but time consuming to make but I think it turned out stunning.
I used the following two Cricut Cartridges for the album.
Disney Dreams Come True and Disney Happily Ever After.

Wedding Card: Throwback Thursday Challenge -Episode #93

Time for another Throwback Thursday Challenge over at My Creative Time.
For this weeks challenge Emma decided to let "you" choose which " Old School" Cartridge you would like to use.
I decided to make a Wedding card for my Nephew and his future wife using the Wedding Solution cartridges. I cut the Bride and Groom at 6 inches and added some pretty bling to the Brides dress. The purple and green are the colours that the Bridesmaid dresses are.

Button Up For School!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog are having yet another great challenge. This weeks theme is to make a school project and use a button some where on the project. This was such a fun project to do. I really put my thinking hat on for this one and I am very pleased with the results.

Yippee! I found another Challenge Blog! This one is called Paper Playtime they have a new challenge every Monday.
So for this weeks challenge #16 - Is Variety
Make any new paper project inspired by this theme " If the shoe fits, buy one of every colour."
I decided I would do a easel card for this weeks challenge since I had just purchased the Wall Decor Cricut Cartridge and I love the shoes on it. I really had a hard time getting this card to come together, but I think I am pretty happy with the final outcome.
This card will be perfect for my nieces birthday, Gillian loves shoes and yes, she does have one in every colour!

Yikes!....Scrappin Saturday: Layout Challenge

My favorite challenge blog is having a extra challenge this week, so I am just happy as can be. I love Fantabulouse Cricut they always have a fun exciting challenge to make you think outside the box with wonderful sponsors. For their Scrappin Saturday Challenge: you are to create a layout about your job. Your project can be about a current job or past job and if you are retired like me it can be about a former job. It has to be about you and must have a photo of yourself somewhere on the project.
Since I am now retired for health reasons, I decided to make the layout of a former job when I worked at the Calwood Medical Clinic. I was there for nine years and enjoy the job very much. The top picture is of myself, a co worker and one of the many drug reps that visited the clinic. The second picture is of one of the Doctors I worked for. The pictures were taken in 2004, I have been gone from the clinic for about 4 years now and still think about it all the time.
The star was cut at 8 inches with my Cricut using George and Basic Shapes and the darling band aides and crutches were from Everyday Dress Up Dolls.
I am also going to enter this layout in a sketch challenge over at Creative Scrappers

Our Dream Home! A Labour Of Love Or Divorce?

Once again Fantabulous Cricut Has another great challenge this week. It is challenge #26 and you are to create a project that has something to do with work, a job, labour or something like that.
So my project I decided to do a layout of when we first purchased our new Dream Home. I was out for a walk one day with are dog and I noticed some new show homes had gone up over the winter. So of course I just had to stop in and have a look. Well I just fell in love with the Huntington 2 and ran home to tell hubby all about it. He thought I was totally nuts, we had just paid off the one we were in and finally mortgage free, but being the good guy he is. He did say we could go and have a look. Well after a lot of sad faces and tears I finally broke him down and we signed the purchase of agreement papers.
Now the reason I say this was labour is because it was just that, picking the paint colours, tiles, brick etc... was hair raising. Man he peed me off more than once, it was my dream house and I wanted it my way or no way. You have to understand my mom was dying and I was just so depressed, there was no making me happy. Anyway we made it through without getting a divorce and we both just love the house!
So for this project I used Everyday Dress Up Dolls for all the cuts. I found the cutest little tools and brads that looked like screws, that I had forgotten I even had, in my wonderful stash of goodies.

Labor Day Challenge & Give Away; Christmas Layout,

Erin Lee Creative has a wonderful Labor Day Challenge going on. So for the challenge I decided to make a Christmas layout for my 2010 album I am working on. I now have three pages done for the album and I still have a couple of months to go!
For the layout I used the following cricut cartridge: Christmas Noel for the tree cutting it at 7 inches and a Child's Year for the adorable kids bring home their Christmas tree, cutting them at 3.50 inches.
I can not wait until Chritmas Eve to take pictures of the grand kids by the tree for this layout!
