Srappy Jak"s Cards of the Month & Fantabulous Cricut Challenge!

Each month I look forward to getting my little parcel from Scrappy Jak, I am just like a little kid on Christmas Day just ripping it open to see what fun stuff I will get to play with this month.

For this card we were all given a blue base and 1 piece of really wild looking paper! The colours were so bright and cheery that I decided to make it into a Summer card.

The second card I am just totally in love with. Yesterday in the mail I received a swap package and there was this darling little pig inside, made by Just Yolie. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to use it right away. The colours go perfect with everything else. I added a little sentiment from My Craft Spot stamp set to the bottom of the card..


I will be entering this summer card into Fantabulous Cricut challenge this week: A Splash of Colour.

My Craft Spot Challenge #23. Sew much fun!

Time for another fun challenge at My Craft Spot. This week challenge, Kimberly asked us to create a project using sewing somewhere on our projects. This was a easy challenge for me since most of my projects do have faux stitching somewhere. So I decided to step it up a notch and drag out my sewing machine!

My sister Debby came across this old photo of my mother doing the laundry back in the early 1950's and was kind enough to send me a copy.

Do you remember the old wringer washer and having to hang the clothes on the line no matter what the weather was like? This was when laundry was a all day chore, but oh my goodness the clothes did smell delightful. My Mother was so young in this picture and Maytag did not even introduce it's first automatic dryer until 1953, not that my parents would be able to afford one for many years to come.

I had a ball making the clothesline, which was cut from Country Life Cricut cartridge at 5.50 inches, I used some stickels and bling on the clothes and stitched around the edges just to add a little extra . The washtub was also cut from the same cartridge but at 3 inches. I used some of the new marmalade crinkled ribbon which can be purchased at My Craft Spot and the colour worked in just perfect with my layout.

For my project today, I decided to make a gatefold card which I found at Monica's Creative Room free SVG. I added the spooky little ghost to the front of the card which was cut from Everyday Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut Cartridge.

For the inside of the card I decided to use my Happy Hauntings cartridge for the graveyard scene and then added the tree from Oct.31st. cartridge.

The cute little Bella & Baxtor Trick or Treater is a SVG file that was purchased at My Scrap Chic
and of course we cannot forget the cute little sentiment! from My Craft Spot "Happy Hauntings" Stamp Set.

So now for the fun part! Today! My Craft Spot has given me a "Friends & Neighbors"- Inside and out Stamp Set to give to one of my wonderful followers. So make sure you leave a comment! My Craft Spot Stamp Realease Party! Featuring "Happy Hauntings"

Today is day 4 of My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party. I hope you were able to check out all the sneak peeks so far. Today I will be showing you a sneak peek of the new stamp set called "Happy Haunting"


This set has so many cute sayings, it was really hard to pick just a couple! I cut this label using Recess Cricut Cartridge at 3.50 inches then heat embossed the stamp.


This label was cut at 3 inches and once again I used heat embossing for the stamp.

I cut these adorable 3D coffins from Happy Haunting Cricut cartridge. I just think they turned out so stinkin cute. I then lined the boxes with a couple of my hubby's hankies to make it look like a real coffin ( but we won't tell him that ) I took a couple of snicker chocolate bars and wrapped them in party steamers from the Dollar store and added a couple of googly eyes. I hope you enjoyed today project as much as I enjoyed making it.

Happy Birthday to Our Fairy Princess!

Today's card was made for a bunch of different challenges and a very special granddaughter. I love when I can work a bunch of challenges into one card with time being so short. It seems like ever since I retired I just have so little time, I really do not know what I do with it, but I do know I am always facing a deadline somewhere. (Just ask my sister , she is always complaining about not seeing me enough! LOL!)

For today's card I used my gypsy and welded two circles together using George and Basic Shapes. Then I used Lacy Labels for the front of the card, it has so many beautiful labels that can be used for cards or photo mats. The Fairy and tag were cut from a Child's Year, the more I use this cartridge the more I like it. I think the fairy turned out so beautiful, just like our sweet little granddaughter.

The first challenge is Whimsical Wednesday: This was a tough one and I really hope I did it right. Their challenge this week is called Three Times a Charm! 3 cuts ( tag, fairy and mat 3 layers), 3 colours( pink, white and green) and 3 of the same embellishments( 3 pink pearls).

Next is Fantabulous Cricut Challenge me Monday: Birthday Bash-make a birthday project.

Back to School Goodie Jar! I Love My Teacher!

My grandson will be starting kindergarten this year and I thought it would be nice for him to take a little gift to his teacher. I saw this ideal on one of the many blogs that I follow, but I will be darned if I can remember who's. If it was you let me know so I can give credit where it belongs.

This was a very fun project to make and took no time at all. I picked up the jar at the Dollar store and then just hot glued crayons around it. It did take 2 1/2 packages of the large crayons, but then I didn't use the blacks, browns and greys. I then tied a pretty ribbon around the middle and added a tag. I hope his teacher will like it, I know I do! I am going to put some sugar free suckers into the jar for a treat for the kids in his classroom.

Hugs and Kisses! My Craft Spot Challenge.

Time for another challenge at My Craft Spot. This weeks challenge is to make a gift box or gift bag. I made a really cool 3D box, but you will have to wait until next weeks big release of My Craft Spots 4 new stamps sets to see it, so make sure you come and join the party! It is just the cutest thing since apple pie and I know you all will be just dieing to make one of your own! There will be some awesome prizes and super projects to get you inspired!


Anyway back to today's project. I used Tags, Bags and More and used the cut to size button on my cricut. I picked up the paper at Michaels on sale and it only used the one sheet for the box. I filled the inside of the box with chocolate covered pretzels and then tied some pretty chocolate truffle crinkle ribbon around the box. The tag was from a SU punch and then I stamped 2 sentiments on the tag from My Craft Spot sentiments. This was a quick and easy project. Hope you enjoy. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Sweet Pea Card! & Winner from Princess Blog Hop

I made this card for a couple of different challenges I had in mind. So I started out by using my gypsy and my Lacey Labels Cricut cartridge to make the base of the card. The first challenge I found on face book and it was to use a cartridge that you just had to have but just never seemed to get around to using!


So I decided this would be a real easy challenge since I am addicted to buying the cartridges and have so many that have not been used! My nephews wife is having a baby girl in a couple of months so I decided to make a card for when baby Melenka is born!



I used New Arrivals for the cricut cuts and used Theresa's favorite colours which are purple and green. I then added some dimensional stickers by Studio 112 and some beautiful crinkled ribbon from My Craft Spot to finish the card off. The funny thing is, I cannot find this challenge anywhere! LOL! But, I will keep looking. The second challenge is over at Fantabulous Cricut: Their challenge this week is to use a bug on your project.

Thanks to my wonderful blogging friend I have found the 1st Challenge I was looking for, it is Kimberli's Creation's: make a project using a cartridge that you barely use, which would be my New Arrivals ( I hate to say this but I have only used this cartridge once) so now thanks to abusybee I can sleep tonight!

I used D'vine Swirls and Swiss Dots embossing folders. Tons of bling and my gel pen.


The paper is from Say it with a Smirk Brat Pack ( I loved the little sayings, I thought it was just perfect for our spoiled little brat!)

Bunning Crossing! Bug Bites Stamp Release Party!

Are you ready for another sneak peak?
Barb over at BugBites has created a stamp set call All Year Round.
I used the Bunny Crossing sentiment on todays project.

Then I saw this empty spot on the bottom of my card and thought I should add another one of these adorable sentiments and added " Don't be blue I'm thinking of you

Bugs Bunny is a free SVG file that I got from Mardenz.
The little sign was cut using Disney Winnie the Pooh Cartridge. I used paper tearing for the hills , chalked the edges. added a bit of gel pen and pop dots and once again another adorable card for someone special.

I am going to enter this card in the challenge over at Scrappin It: The challenge is to make a summer card.

Scrappy Jak Card of the Month! July 4th or Independece Day!

Once a month Melissa from Scrappy Jak on Facebook sends out a Card of The Month package with a couple of projects for us ladies to make and then we all post them on the same day over on Facebook. It is a lot of fun and it is really amazing how many different cards are made from the same basic material she sends to us.

My first card I used A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge cutting my little guy and car at 3 inches. I used pop up dots to raise the imagine. The card is a A2 size card....Blue base with blue star patterend paper. We all must use the card base and a portion of each other supply that is sent to us, I just love the way it turned out.

My second card I used a free SVG file from Kadoodle called All American Bear. I also used pop ups dots to raise the imagine and inked all my edges. This is also a A2 card and we all started out with a red base with star patterned paper and a piece of red ribbon. Isn't he just the cutest little bear ever?

The cute sentiment is from BugBites new stamp set which is being released this week!
