Happy Canada Day! And Winner from Zoe's Friendship Blog Hop.

Just a quick post to wish my fellow Canadians a Happy Canada Day and to share the center piece I made for the table in honor of Canada's 144 Birthday.

This year I was lucky enough to have my kids over for supper , so I decided to whip this together late last night for the grand kids!

You should of seen Joshua, our youngest when he laid his eyes on it ...... he was right up on the table! I could not believe the reaction I got from the kids. They were just so excited!

This is the cake my hubby decided he was going to make, I could not believe it when Alf said he was going to bake a cake, Alf cannot even boil water! I know it doesn't look the greatest but oh my goodness it sure tasted yummy!

Last, I would like to share this picture of three of the grand kids waving their flags! and of course my beautiful daughter Christy, who is just waiting to cut into the cake.

I will be entering this project into the Happy Canada Day Blog hop. After finishing the hop they have asked us to make a Canadian Themed project . If you would like to see a bunch of great projects and have a chance to win some yummy blog candy the hop begins Here.

As always thanks for stopping in! Hope you all have a great Canada Day or a Happy 4Th of July to all my followers in the USA!

Oops! I just about forgot to say who won the Blog Candy!!

Silly me! It has been a very, very long day.

I used random.org

  1. Belated Happy Canada Day! Like your photos. The strawberry cake looks yummy! I have had the pleasure of visiting the following parts of Canada: Niagara Falls (liked the Falls especially boat ride on the Maid of the Mist), Vancouver (took a city tour and bus driver who did not count passengers on one stop left us behind until the other passengers told him that they noticed we were not on the bus) & Ontario (Mar this yr 2011, enjoyed the Toronto Zoo & Casa Loma).
