Jurassic Park River Adventure! Exploring Cricut Guest Designer!

Today I am very excited and honored to be a guest designer for Exploring Cricut I was tickled pink when asked if I would do a guest spot for this weeks challenge at Exploring Cricut and boy oh boy it is a good one!!!
This week challenge is a 1,2,3 challenge.
1 Ribbon
2 Cricut cuts
3 Jewels, brads or buttons.
The challenge starts today and runs till February 4th so make sure you head over to Exploring Cricut and join in the fun!
I decided on a two page layout for this challenge.
This is the first page of my layouts, using 3 Palm Tree Brads, 1 ribbon just below the mountains and 2.5 Cricut cuts from Dinosaur Track Cricut Cartridge.
I used Imaginisce Dinosaur Roar Collection with a beautiful varnish accent.
Can you see the look of terror on my face?
Rawr! A big T Rex
The top border is from a Martha Stewart punch, it has to be one of my favorite punches.
This is a shot of my hubby, the pictures were taken at Universal Studios  May 13th, 2009. I don't know if you noticed, but along the top of the first page I used my computer to try and match page two dinosaurs border and if I say so myself, I did a pretty good job of it! LOL!

Thanks for stopping bye and don't forget to pop over and join in the fun at Exploring Cricut.

Winter Fun!

This weeks challenge over at StuckOnUSketches is a Die cut challenge...How fun is that!

For Christmas this year we decided to buy our three granddaughters their first pair of skates.
The weather has been fairly nice  this winter so I decided to take the girls out for the day, to try out their new skated, we had a blast!

The two younger girls were really scared and of course they were crying and really acting up for there mom so grandma took each one aside and just talked to them and told them they could do it, well before you knew it they were off and having a ball. Jan my oldest granddaughter has never been on ice skates before but she had learned to roller blade last summer so she  had no problem at all. I had brought along two thermoses of hot chocolate and of course my camera. After skating we went to MacDonald's for lunch and called it a day! Today layout is all about our day of ice skating.

I used Camping Critters to cut the trees and pond at 8 inches, there were mountains in the back ground but I just cut they off.
My little ice skater is a SVG file called Bella and Baxtor sledding and skating which I purchased over at My Scrap Chick
I inked the all the edges added some stickles, flock, bling and some True Snow and embossed  for the finale touches.  I am also going to enter this layout in another couple of my favorite  challenges.First is  Getting Cricky: This weeks Simply Sunday Challenge: Let it Snow!
Next we have Die Cutting Diva: A recipe challenge: Buttons, Bling or Bows, and of course we can't forget Getting Scrappy Challenge: this weeks layout challenge is Flurries of Fun! Hope you enjoyed today's post.

Bee My Hunny

It seems like forever since I have gotten around to doing a challenge for Fantabulous Cricut. So I decided this morning no matter what, I was going down to my scraproom and not coming out until it was done! This weeks, Challenge me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut is called Label it!
I used my gypsy to weld to Honey pot together from Pooh and Friend cutting it at 4.35 to form a shape card.
For my label I used Tags Bags and more also using my gypsy to fit it to the card front.
I then used a sentiment from Sweet Cheeks Stamps called Heartfelt Thoughts.

Finale touches to the card, are embossing, brads, bling, pop up dots for dimension and chalking the edges with Tim Holtz distressing ink.
Thanks for stopping bye and leaving me a bit of love!

Baptism card for "Anything Goes" Whimsical Wednesday Challenge

Today we celebrated my Nephews little girl "Paige Gracie" Baptism.
I found this beautiful Gate fold SVG over at  Monica's Creative Room As soon as I saw it, I knew I just had to make it.
The reason I choose this cut for the card is that the meaning of Baptism is
"The door to the church"
Once baptized a person becomes a member of the church and this will be Paige's first steps into church.
The shoes were cut at 3 inches using Kate's ABC's Cricut Cartridge.
I used coloured beads to create the baby's name and some pink satin ribbon for the bows.
The poem was created off my computer from a poem I found on the Internet. I love the way the card turned out and hope Theresa and Jesse are just as pleased as I am.
I will be entering it into a couple of my favorite challenge blogs.
Whimsical Wednesday  this weeks challenge is "Anything Go's!"
My Sheri Craft Challenge #77 New things
My new things were a Gate Fold Card and using a text box in my word program, to create the poem. I am a little stupid when it comes to computers and was tickled pink when I saw this on another blog earlier this week.

Let's have some Fun! A couple of Fun Challenges I just found!

Yippee! I just found another couple of great challenge blogs and if you know me at all, you must know that
 I love a good Challenge.
The first is a Sketch Challenge Blog called Colourful Creations this is their first sketch for 2012.
This is a picture of the sketch.

My take on the sketch!
I used both Bo Bunny and My Minds Eye paper for this 12X12 layout. This is my Granddaughter Katie from a few years back. Katie loves to dress up and is a real ham in front of the camera.

I used Kate's ABC's Cricut Cartridge cutting the little girl at 3 inches.
This is of some of the rhinestones and pearls I used so I could enter this layout over at Cardz TV
There challenge this weeks is called the Three R's. Made a card or craft project using one or all three of the R's
Ribbon, Rhinestones or Rick Rack
The title is just some dimensional stickers I had in my stash. All edges were inked. As always thanks for stopping bye and have a wonderful weekend.

Cooking with Cricut Challenge #68 Little Angel

Good Morning my crafty friends. This weeks challenge over at Cooking with Cricut is a photo inspiration, use the colors in the photo, a tree, or whatever this amazing pictures inspires you to make! As soon as I saw this picture, I knew I wanted to play.
Here is my take of the photos. I choice to use the colours in the picture to inspire me.
This darling little angel is a cutting file from Paper Crafting World. I embossed her dress with my cuttlebug and placed her on a cloud.
I just love her face, when ever I look at her I get a silly grin on my own face.
The title was cut from 3 Birds on Parade.

The tree and deer were cut from Paper Doll Dress Up. Finishing touches are flock added to the antlers and tree, bling to the tree, photo corners with brads and of course all edges were inked. So as always thanks for stopping bye and have a great week.  Make sure you head over to Cooking with Cricut to see what the rest of the design have done and I look forward to seeing how you are inspired by this amazing photo challenge.
I will also be entering this layout into another couple of fun challenges first one is The Cuttlebug Spot. This weeks challenge is Winter Time.
The next one is Getting Scrappy: This weeks challenge is anything goes! Must be a layout and include a cricut cut or SVG.

Hush Little Baby!

This weeks challenge over at The Paper Variety is to use Black and White with a wisp of colour.
I had these beautiful black and white photos of our newest member of the family so I decided to make a layout using them.
Both the bird on the paper and the picture of Paige with mommies diamonds rings on her little toes inspired this layout.

Hush, Little Baby.

Hush, little baby, don't say a word.
Papa's gonna buy you a mockingbird

And if that mockingbird won't sing,
Papa's gonna buy you a diamond ring
|
The only cartridges I used on this layout were Tags Bags and More and George and Basic Shapes.
This is a picture of my Nephew and his daughter Paige Gracie.
Paige is being Christened on Jan 21st so I decided to frame the layout and give it to them for the nursery. I had a heck of a time getting a good picture of it in the frame, the spot is from the flash hitting the glass.
As always thanks for stopping bye, have a great week!

Over The Hill or Life Begins at 40?

It's a Celebration!!!!!

OMG! I cannot believe my baby is turning 40 this year. It seems like yesterday that I was holding him in my arms smothering him with kisses and pinching his chubby little cheeks. So with this being said I decided to make a card in his honor. His Birthday is not till May 10th but when I saw this weeks Simply Sundays Challenge over at Getting Cricky with K. Andrews I thought this would be the perfect time to create his card, because I really wanted it to be special.

I created the card using my gypsy and Life's a Party Cricut Cartridge.
This is the inside of the card.
and what's a Birthday without the candles and a little bit of glitter!
I also would like to enter this card into this weeks challenge over at Whimsical Wednesday...because I can all ready tell this is going to be my favorite card for this year, it will be hard to top this little buzzard!
Thanks for stopping by and in case I haven't said it before
Happy New Years!!!!!!

Cooking With Cricut Challenge! Family Memories !

This weeks challenge over at Cooking With Cricut is "Something New" We figured since Christmas had just finished it would be fun to have a challenge using one of the new crafty items you received this year, or if you didn't get anything just something new you have purchase would work to.
Well, Santa was very good to me this year so it was really a hard choice to decide just which cartridge I wanted to play with. But then I remember a picture that I have wanted to scrap book for a very long time so the decision was made for me.
This is a picture that was taken around 1982 in my parents backyard. It was shortly after Christmas and all the grand kids were over for a visit to see there Nanny and Papa. it was a beautiful winter day so the kids put on their winter clothes and outside they went to play. Papa had made them a bob sled for Christmas and they were just dying to try it out! My father was such a crafty man and so good with us kids and even better with the grand kids. We have so many wonderful memories that should be put down on paper so after we are gone our kids can remember him , since he died at such a young age.
My new item I choice to use on today's project is my Sesame Street Seasons Cricut cartridge, it has so many wonderful outdoor cuts to play with, and I don't know about now but Sesame Street was really big back then. I started my layout with some light blue embossed paper with snowflakes, I then took white paper and used the paper tearing method to make the hills of snow running them through my cuttlebug and then added some stickles which are not showing up in the pictures. All the characters were cut at 4 inches, the trees were cut from my Winter Frolic cartridge at 5 inches I added some flower flock to the trees to make it look like snow.
So that's it for today's project but just to let you know that the two kids in the middle of the bob sled our my baby's ( the two biggest) Some of you might know my daughter Christy from her blog over at christys_scrappin she would of been 12 in that picture.
Now it your turn to show us some of your wonderful projects using something new! Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Team projects over at Cooking With Cricut.
I am also going to enter this layout over at Exploring Cricut, their first challenge of the New Year is called Winter Wonderland: create a winter scene.
