Dress Up! Lets Get Sketchy & Getting Scrappy Challenge

Today I have taken two challenges and combined them into one. This layout was all inspired by the colours in my granddaughter  Katie's shirt and the wonderful sketch over at Lets get Sketchy.
Here is a picture of this weeks sketch.
and her is my take of it!
Before I tell you a bit of what I used to make the layout I also wanted to let you know about Amanda's challenge over at  Getting Scrappy Challenge  is also to use a sketch and share the sketch. How cool is that!
I used K and Company Wild Saffron designer paper, the colours are so rich and go so well with the picture. (Before I covered the pretty colours up on the shirt with the shoes that is! )
The only cartridge I used this time is Kate's ABC's for both the title and the shoes.
Finishing touches were a couple of brads, a few pop up dots and a charm. So that's it for another layout. Hope you enjoyed today's project. Take care and have a super great weekend.

Welcome Spring!

So they say Spring has arrived, so why was Alberta hit with over 5 cm of snow in the last two days? It is nice to think about the sun shinning and the good times that will be here in the near future. This weeks layout was made for a ton of my favorite challenges , since everyone seams to have Spring on there minds!

My 12X12 layout started out with a plain piece of yellow card stock and a picture from last year of my wonderful grand kids at a neighbor hood park.
I wanted it to be fun and colourful with lots of glitter and fun things that you would do and see in Spring.
Cartridges used for the layout were:
Simply Charmed: Tree at 5.5 inches
Cricut Classic Font: Sun at 3.5 inches
Disney Pooh and Friends: Clouds different sizes.
Nate's ABC's: Bull rush at 2.5 inches
Give a Hoot: Frog at 1inch
Locker Talk: Slide at 3.5 inches
Walk in my Garden: Tulips 1.5 inches
Wow! That was one heck of a lot of cartridges used!
The ladybug is from a die cut and my cuttlebug. I also used both divine swirls and Swiss dots embossing folders on the layout.

I will be entering this layout in the following challenges this week.
Creative Cutter Room Bloghop and challenge ( must collect four elements along the way in this blog hop and then make a project with all four elements)
Fantabulous Cricut: Celebrate Spring: Make a project with at least 3 flowers ( Tulips)
My Craft Spot: Spring Scallops ( Border along bottom of page)
Welch Creation: Make a project with at least 3 embellishments ( charm, brads, metal title)
Whimsical Design: Celebrate Spring
Celebrate The Occasion: Welcome Spring
As always my crafty friends, thanks for stopping bye and saying hi. Until next time have a great weekend, and stay safe.

Running Through The Sprinkler!

The pictures in today layout are from last summer. My son, his wife and hubby decided they wanted to go golfing for the day and asked me if I would look after the kids for the day. I checked the weather the night before and saw it was going to be a beautiful day so of course I said no problem. I packed up a picnic lunch and when the kids arrived we went off to the park. Well that lasted about four hours before the little ones had to go to the bathroom, so off we went back to grandmas house. It was so hot that I decided to put the sprinkler on and let the kids run through it, they had a blast! The day just flew bye and once again many more fond memories for me to put on to paper to cherish for a lifetime.
I found this cool challenge over at Welch Creations to make a project with a scenic background, plus I couldn't forget the challenge over at GettingScrappy this weeks challenge is called colour me green! This is a layout challenge and you must use the colour green somewhere on your page. I then decided to follow a sketch by Bev Code for Lets Get Sketchy. Wow! 3 challenges with one page...Not Bad! LOL!
This is a picture of the sketch I followed and here is my take of the sketch.
I love the way this turned out!
Here is a list of the cartridges used for this layout.
Cindy Lou- Tree
H20- Title and sprinkler
A Garden of Words- Fence and grass
Cricut Classic Font- Sun
Everyday Paper Dolls- cloud
I used tons of pop ups to give dimension to the different cuts.
The ribbon was from my stash, I bet it has been hanging around for at least five years, but it fit right in with the theme of the layout.

As always my crafty friends, thanks for stopping bye and leaving me some love your comments are what keep me inspired to continue to keep on doing what I love best.

Mothers Day Card for The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge

This week The Cuttlebug Spot is celebrating Mothers Day on March 18th for there friends in the U.K. so there challenge is to create a project for mom and include some stitches somewhere on the project.
This is a 5X5 inch Recessed Window Card and the pattern can be found over at Splitcoast Stampers.
The vase of flowers was cut at 2.5 inches from Cricut Country Life. I added bling to the center of the flowers and two little bling butterflies.
The sentiment is from My Pink Stampers and then I added the word Mother on the ribbon.
I found this lovely poem on the Internet. It is funny but I really find making Mother days cards hard, since my Mother passed away. I decided it was about time to smarten up and make it and give it to my grand kids to give to their Mom. I know she will just love it!
I am also going to enter this card over at Simon Says Challenge Blog This weeks challenge is also Mothers day. As always my crafty friends, thanks for stopping in have a lovely week and if you have time make sure you The Cuttlebug Spot.

Happy St. Patricks Day Card

Boy! Oh boy! Did it ever feel good to get back into my scrap booking room last night and create a card. We had been in Las Vegas for the last week or so, just to get away from the snow for a few days and a bit of rest and relaxation. Just before we left for Vegas I decided to treat myself to the new Elmo and Friends Holiday cartridge, I was so excited when we got home and saw that it had arrived. It is just filled with so many great cuts for all different occasions. So after checking some of my favorite blogs to see what challenges are going on, I decided to make a St. Patricks Day Card.

This is a 5X5 card using Elmo 9 for the cuts. Isn't he just so cute?

All the papers are from my scraps. I added a couple of pop up dots for dimension, a little bit of stickles on the shamrock on his hat and some real glittered ribbon.
Here is a list of the challenges I will be linking the card up to.
Fantabulous Cricut- Use a shamrock or the colour green Challenge
Whimsical Designs- Going green Challenge, use green in your project.
Scrappy Mom Stamps- St. Patricks Day card
Creative Cutting Room- St. Patrick Day card.
Go Fish Challenge Blog- Photo inspiration St Patricks Day card.

As always my crafty friends, thanks for stopping bye and leaving me some love. I really have missed checking up on you in the last week and promise once I catch up on a bit of sleep....I will be back!
