Last Two Christmas Cards For 2010

Scrappy Jak over on Facebook has a monthly card Kit that she send to her followers. If you have not visited her Facebook page you should. Their are a bunch of wonderful people that follower her and we do all kinds of different things. We had a Christmas swap which was so much fun. I received so many great scrapbooking items. Then when my daughter was in her car accident a couple of weeks ago, Melissa was the first one to get a card drive going for Christy. How can you not help being part of this wonderful group. I am so happy that I had to do these cards, because I was short by two cards this year. So all I did was take a couple of pictures and I was ready to send them to my nieces.

I used Christmas Noel to make the window and then the tree was cut from Winter Frolic and the girl was from A Child's Year. I just love the way this card turned out. For the second card, I used my PKS Cottage Cutz for the cute little gingerbread men. The tree was once again cut from Winter Frolic.
I still have to post a mini album that Melissa sent to us, but I am not finished it yet due to the holidays.
I have also reached 200 followers myself......Yippee!! So I decided to put together a pink blog candy package to celebrate. I will be posting pictures of it tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping in, hope you all had a great Christmas. I know we sure did.

Merry Christmas From Our House To Yours!

I have a list of folk I know all written in a book

And every year at Christmas time I go and take a look

And that is when I realise that these names are a part

Not of the book they're written in, but of my very heart.
Every year when Christmas comes I realise anew

The biggest gift life can give is knowing folk like you

May the Spirit of Christmas that forever endures

Leave its rich blessings in the hearts of you and yours.

Merry Christmas to all my followers and there love ones. Have a very safe Christmas and the best to all of you in 2011.

Two Page Christmas Layout for The Paper Variety Week 14 Challenge!

When I saw the Photo Inspiration Challenge over at The Paper Variety. I just knew I had to do a layout for it.

This is our dog Buttons, she is a Yorkie Pooh and just the most lovable dog we have ever had. She may be a little shit at times, but she has us both wrapped around her little paws!

I was looking at old photos and came across these pictures of her from Christmas 2007 and I went to work. I ended up doing a two page layout, because I just couldn't figure out which pictures to use, they were all so cute!

I also decided not to use my circut machine for the cuts and went back to the old school way and cut them all out by hand. I had forgotten about this awesome paper piecing book I had.

I even decided to use my sewing machine for a extra special touch to the layouts. The Santa's Paws was printed on my computer with a cool Christmas font I found on the Internet.

The Ho Ho Ho and Merry are metal letters from the dollar store and I found some paw and bone brads in my stash for the final touch.

Every year as soon as the tree goes up, and the tree skirt is down, Buttons head straight over and has her sleep.

I would like to take a minute and thank all of my followers
for popping by my blog and for all your lovely comments.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Wishing you all the best in 2011.

Get Well Card For christys_scrappin (she's going to kill me yet)

Yesterday I got the scare of my life when my daughters husband called to tell me that Christy had rolled her car! I was just sick....... and I am sure I aged 10 years over night.

The car is not in very good shape, probably a write off, but thank the LORD, Christy will be O.K . She has a lot of bumps, bruises, aches and pains! But she is a live!

So I decided to make a card to see if I could cheer the poor girl up. I love the little poem, I found on the Internet......It really does explain the way I feel.

I decided that since I made a get well card, I will kill two birds with one stone and enter the card for the challenge over at More Than Favors. This weeks challenge: make a get well card.

Mickey And Friends Christmas Banner: Fantabulous Cricut Challenge

This weeks Challenge over at Fantabulouse Cricut
is to make a project to decorate or spruce up your home for the holiday.

I have been wanting to make a banner for a while now, and since my upstairs is all decorated in Disney, I decided to keep the theme going.

I used Country Life to cut the banner at 10 1/2 inches. I then cut the letters at 4 inches from Ashley's Alphabet. The Micky, Mini and Pluto were cut at 3 inches from Mickey and friends and last I cut the snowflakes at 5 inches from Speaking about Winte

I inked around the edges and ran the letters through my cuttlebug using the snowflake folder

I really didn't know where to hang this , so it is in my bathroom on the mirror.

Hope you enjoy and thanks for popping by.

Christmas Ornaments and Gift Boxes

Like so many people out there, I need to lose weight, it is a never ending battle! Over the years I have lost so many pounds and then gained it back. What can I say I love food! I belong to a wonderful weight loss groups called Tops (taking off pounds sensibly). Without it I don't know where I would be ....probably over 300 lbs. so even if I am still over weight, it could be a lot worse.

Tomorrow we are having our pot luck Christmas Party so I decided to make the girls a Christmas ornament with their name, year and the Tops name. I also put a tin of sugar free candy in each of their gift bag. I then made a cute little gift box to go with each ornament.

Paper Secrets Blog Hop Winner!

First I would like to thank all my followers! New and old for their beautiful comments on my Believe Book, I loved reading each and every one of them and for the friendship I feel I have found with so many of you. I was so happy to finish this album and it is now sitting on my fireplace for everyone to see at Christmas time.
Christmas is at my house this year and there will be 30 of us.....a real full house for sure. I have the three trees up and fully decorated and I am now just doing some last minute gift in my scrap room and then I think I will be done for another year.
So I guess I have chatted enough for one night and had better get on with it....that is why you have all stopped bye in the first place.
So I used Random.org to pick my winner

and the lucky winner is #27

Grab a cup of coffee, put your feet up, sit back and enjoy. If you become a follower of my blog and leave a comment you will also be entered to win some goodies from me.

For the hop I decided to do a word book which is by BoBunny. I not sure who the paper is by, it was just in my paper supplies. I inked all the edges, added ribbon, bling a few stamps. It was a lot of work but I love the way it turned out. I found the poem on the Internet. It is called the Spirit Of Santa.

This is a picture of my Mom and Dads first Christmas together in 1947. The picture was in black and white so I decided to do the whole album the same. My parents believed in true love forever! Dad passed in 1984 and Mom never dated and stayed true to him until she passed in 2004.

This is a picture of my oldest sister Debby and myself: I don't know about Debby but I still believe in Santa!

This is my baby sister Penny

This picture is of my two children, Christy, who you all know as christy_scrappin and my son Russell.

Next is a picture of my sister Debby's kids when they were little.

Then came Penny's kids.

Then Christy's two boys (my grandsons).

Then Russell four kids (four more of my grand kids).

and last is a picture of a Christmas present my father made before he passed away. All of his grandchildren were there except for Jon who wasn't born yet.

Don't forget to leave a comment and become a follower for a chance to win this blog candy! Your next stop is at Christy"s

Winter Wonderland Christmas Layout

I wish the pictures had turned out better for this layout, it is just beautiful in person, but once again another gloomy winter day here in Canada.

I used my new Twinkle Toes cartridge for the picture frames and cannot wait to get some pictures of the grand kids this Christmas to add to the layout.

The house and trees were cut from Christmas Noel, the title was cut from Winter Frolic. I add glitter to the snow which is hard to see in the pictures but in person it just twinkles.
The paper was just from Michael's. Not very traditional Christmas Colours but oh so pretty
I had a lot of different challenges in mind with this layout and I am looking forward to doing the second page soon.
The challenges I will be putting this in are the following:
More Than Favors: Wacky Wednesday #17 : Christmas
Getting Cricky: Anything Goes
Gabby Abby Challenge SEI #8: Anything Christmas
Crafting With Christina: Rocking Around The Christmas Tree
Frosted Design: Glitter
Lets Ink It Up : Challenge #7

Bee-u-tiful Birthday Card

Nov. 29th was both my sisters and son in laws birthday. I made this card for Debby, she loves the colour blue and yellow and because her name is Debby...she loves Bee's.

The card is called a wiper card, you can find instruction over at Splitcoast Stampers to make this card.

I cut the Beehive at 2.50 inches from A Walk in My Garden and the bees were count at 1 inch and 1.50 inches from Create A Critter. I used a little bling for the eyes of the bees.

I am going to enter this card over at Fantablous Cricut for there challenge me Monday #38: use ribbon somewhere on your Cricut project.

The next challenge will be for Party Time Tuesday: anything goes Birthday Card Challenge #23.
The last challenge is for Getting Cricky's
Hope you enjoy and have a great night.

Accordion File folder: Thanksgiving Countdown Checklist

This week the Design Team for Cricut Mini Albums were asked to make a mini album for Thanksgiving. Well to tell you the truth I am pretty sick of it by now. I live in Canada so we celebrate Thanksgiving at the beginning of October. Of course I had to clean the house, do the cooking, do the shopping so we could eat and then after everyone had left, it was time to do the dishes and clean the house! Ever year it is the same thing, for once I would like to get up and just go to someone else's house for a change. LOL.

So I decided to make a Accordion File Folder with a Thanksgiving Checklist and give it to my daughter in law as a gift so she can do Thanksgiving next year! Don't you think this is a great ideal? This way my house will stay clean and I can sit back and drink the wine and enjoy the kids and the food and still have the energy to come home and scrapbook!

You can find the instruction for this folder over at Splitcoast Stamper. It was very easy to do, and I love the fall colours I picked for it.

The tags were cut from Tags Bags and More, and the labels were from Storybook.
I am going to enter this into the challenge over at The Beary Scrap Design Team & Challenge Blog challenge #14: anything goes!
Hope you enjoy, thanks for stopping by.

Now I can start to get ready for Christmas, one tree up two more to go.
