Hope! The Scrapbooking Queen Has Spoken!

For today's post I decided to make a card for a couple of different challenges going on right now. As you all know this is Breast Cancer Awareness month. In recent years, there's been an explosion of life-saving treatment advances against breast cancer, bringing new hope and excitement. This is a terrible disease, but can be beaten! I know because my dear mother had it. I will never forget the day she called me and said she had found a lump. I worked in a Doctors office so I was able to pull a few strings and get her in right away for a mammogram.

It was December 24Th when Mom broke the news to the rest of the family and I must say it was not the best Christmas that I can ever remember. Things moved very quickly after that and she had her mastectomy and lymph node dissection surgery at the beginning of the New Year. I remember going up to the hospital shorty after her surgery and their was dear mom practising to see if she still was going to be able to bowl or not. She was such a strong women and a real card!

Mom may have lost her beast to cancer, but she did fight the terrible disease and lived for another five years before the ugly monster returned in the form of oral cancer. She was a wonderful women and we all miss her dearly. It has been six years this month since I lost both my mother and BBF. I hope this card will make someone else that is suffering from this disease hopeful.

The first Challenge is for The Cuttlebug Spot
The second is for The Scrapbooking Queen, she has been so kind to include her address where the cards can be sent and she will then take them to the Womens Center where they will be distributed to women fighting this terrible disease.
The last challenge is the Cuttlebug Challenge They would like you to send the card you make to someone who is suffering from this disease. I sent my out today.
